A bit of my history in the sport:
I was born in 1974 and started in the martial arts doing judo when I was 5 years old.
I started seriously training when I was 12 years old, after watching fight movies on TV.
I also decided to train MuayThai in 1987 with Professor Marco Ruas at Corpore Gym in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
After a couple of years I started to train Muay Thai, Wrestling and Boxing, at JOP academy, in Brazil.
Finally training Muay Thai and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) at the Thai Boxing Academy, with Professor Luis Alves from 1997 to 2010.

THAI BOXING GYM
I competed in many competitions and I was a champion of all modalities practiced. I achieved my black belt in Submission Wrestling in 1994 and MuayThai in1992.
In 1992 I moved from Rio De Janeiro to Brasilia, the capital of the country where I began to work as a Muay Thai teacher.
Around 1993, I continued practicing wrestling with Professor Damiao Marques, as well as preparing my students for competitions, by adding Muay Thai and Submission Wrestling techniques.
Today they form the "Fibra Fight Team" along with Professor Joao Torraca and "Cerrado MMA" with Professor Daniel. Making them two successful teams in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and MuayThai in Brazil.
Due to the interest in martial arts, I majored in Physical Education and initiated to help my students with their physical preparation, who were seeking for a better life style.
At the academy where I used to teach MuayThai I began to take Jiu JItsu lessons. I had already trained before but I unfortunately could not continue, so with the ease of being able to work and train at the same place, I started training Jiu Jitsu again from 1993 to this day.
My younger brother Fabio "Gigantinho" Villela followed my Steps in jiu jitsu and also opened his academy in Texas - USA
I received important results in all belt levels, such as: State, Brazilian, Pan American and World championships. I've had many good experiences over the years and I won my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt in 2003 from the hands of my Master Carlos Gracie Jr in Brazil.
I am currently a third degree black belt with a good experience in international competitions and seminars.
I completed successfully all courses in refereeing and became an international referee.
My reason for coming to Australia was due to a good friend who is the BJJ Federation president in Australia (AFBJJ).
I am grateful to my good friend Peter de Been for giving me the suggestion to move Australia and for the support and confidence in my work.
I am the head referee in Australia, responsible for all events under AFBJJ and after a few months living in Sydney, I started my own school in August 2011.
